Australian Mist

Overview of Australian Mist
Formerly known as the "Spotted Mist," The Australian Mist is the first cat to originate in the land down under. They are so well-loved in Aussie households that it has become the country's national cat breed. Suppose you want one of these friendly kitties. In that case, you may need to get a plane ticket because the breed hasn't caught on outside of its home country. There are very few breeders outside of Australia (except maybe a few in the United Kingdom). In the 1970s, Dr. Trude Straede had the idea to cross the Burmese, Abyssinian, and domestic shorthaired cats to create a mellow, medium-sized (8-15lb) kitty happy to live indoors. The Australian Mist has a very friendly demeanor with their rounded head, ears and beautiful rounded eyes that are typically a shade of green. They come in seven coat colors, including blue, brown, chocolate, lilac, caramel, gold and peach, and two patterns: spotted or marbled.
