Types of Lice on Cats and Dogs
There are two major kinds of lice:
- Skin-chewing lice: eat skin debris and hair of your little one
- Blood-sucking lice: as the name suggests, they suck the blood off your little one
Signs of Lice on Dogs and Cats
How to tell if your little one is suffering from lice infestation?
Here are some things you should keep an eye out for:
- Presence of lice on your furkiddos (wingless, flat and tan-colored) or nits/egg shells (looks like dandruff)
- Severe itchiness and constant scratching
- Rough or even matted coat
- Bald spots or significant hair loss
- Tiny wounds that blood-sucking lice cause
- Secondary bacterial infections
- Anemia
- Tapeworm problem – if your pup or kitty swallows a type of chewing lice (Trichodectes canis)

How NHV Remedies Support Lice on Dogs and Cats

Inulin PK is our primary support for naturally getting rid of external parasites. The anti-parasitic herbs added to the extract work well in expelling worms and parasites from the host's body, including lice and tapeworms. The enzyme-rich Papaya, in particular, is useful in dissolving the worm’s outer layer.
Target Spray also helps fight off and prevent lice on your little one. The supplement serves as an insect repellant. Also, since external dog parasites and cat parasites may cause damage like wounds on your pet’s body, herbs like Neem and tea tree oil help with the healing process. The analgesic properties in this formulation may also ease any discomfort these wounds may cause.
The last supplement added to this kit is Milk Thistle. It is excellent for detoxifying your furkid with lice problems.
And why do they need detoxification? You may ask.
By detoxifying your furkid, you can strengthen their resistance to external parasites. Flushing out toxins from their body also makes their blood and coat less attractive to insects and lice. This way, lice will be less likely to attack your furkid. Other supplements will also work better to help eliminate lice if you detoxify your pet regularly because there will be fewer waste products in their system.

All NHV supplements are made with the finest quality organic or ethically harvested herbs. We use non-GMO vegetable glycerin as our base. NHV products are full-spectrum extracts.
Inulin PK

- European Pennyroyal – Helps repel bugs, including ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes.
- Aloe Vera – May help speed the healing of minor wounds blood-sucking lice cause.
- Celandine – A cleansing, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial herb that improves bile flow.
- Milk Thistle – May prevent toxins penetration into the liver cell's interior and interrupts toxins' recirculation.
- Lemongrass Oil – Acts as an insect and mite repellant.
- Ceylon Citronella Oil – An antiviral, antibacterial herb used as an insect and parasite repellent.

Dosage
INULIN PK, MILK THISTLE DOSAGE : To be taken twice daily. Determine your pet’s weight and then use the easy chart below to determine the correct dose. This is the minimum dosage.
Pet's Weight Dosage
0 - 15 lb = 0.5 ml
16 - 30 lb = 1.0 ml
31 - 45 lb = 1.5 ml
46 - 60 lb = 2.0 ml
61 - 75 lb = 2.5 ml
Over 75 lb = 3.0 ml
For small animals (rabbits, ferrets), avians and reptiles use 1 drop for every 2 lb of body weight.
How to Administer
Shake well before use. The easiest method is to use the dropper provided and place the drops into your pet’s food or favorite treat. You can also use the dropper and squirt directly into the pet’s mouth. Some pets can be finicky, if this occurs consider hiding the drops in foods most pet’s love such as fish, chicken or yogurt or a favorite treat. If your pet only eats dry food then soak a few kibbles at feeding time.
For Best Results
Herbal dietary supplements are beneficial to the health and well-being of your pet and are safe for long-term use. Every pet responds to natural herbal supplements differently, therefore it is important to be consistent and administer the product daily. Supplements generally take two to four weeks to take effect, however this will vary from one animal to the next.
Product Storage
All NHV Natural Pet Products are pure herbal extracts and contain no artificial additives, preservatives or coloring. Shelf life after opening is 6 months and must be refrigerated after opening.

Do not use in pregnant or nursing animals.

How to Administer
Topical Spray: Spray several times a day as need. It may some times be necessary to shave or trim your pet’s hair so that the Target spray reaches the affected area.
Caution
Do not spray near or into eyes or nose. Do not use in pregnant animals.

Herbal supplements are meant to support and help the body function better, and being pure plant extracts, they need time to make a difference. Please note that supplements are not intended to treat disease or ailments and are meant to support the body.
We will happily credit your account for any sealed items. Please note that opened/ used items are not eligible for a refund.
NOTE: International orders, outside of USA and Canada, are not covered in the return policy and are therefore nonreturnable and nonrefundable.
Details of refund for sealed items:
- The full purchase price (minus shipping costs and 15% restocking) when your product arrives at our warehouse.
- We do not issue refunds for products that are not returned or products returned after 60 days from the purchase date.
- Shipping charges are also non-refundable. Please note that we offer free shipping on orders over $100; if a product is being returned, this does not apply and a $14.99 shipping fee will be deducted.
- Any requests for refund/replacement of damaged, defective or incorrect product must be reported within 24 hours of receipt of the product and supported with a photo of the damaged or incorrect product as well as shipping box or refund/replacement will not be issued.

For a full refund (excluding shipping and restocking fees), please complete the following within 60 days of the date of purchase.
- Obtain your authorization number and note this number on your invoice and on the outside of the shipping box.
- Return the product within 14 days of the issuance of your Return Authorization number.
- Mail all sealed products with a copy of the invoice.
