Description
If your pet is on strong meds to help address any health conditions, these medications may place an extra burden on the liver, kidneys. NHV’s Liver and GI (Gastrointestinal) Protection Kit for pets, contains a bundle of natural remedies to help support liver function, encourage GI tract healing, as well as aiding in filling nutritional voids (that may develop from a weakened liver and kidneys).
Natural Support for GI Tract and Liver Exhaustion in Dogs and Cats
To help protect the liver and support the digestive tract, we recommend our GI Protection Kit which contains Tumflora, Milk Thistle, and Multi Essentials. Together, these three supplements may help to soothe and protect the stomach, bowel, liver and kidneys from oxidative stress (due to a chronic condition). The supplements in this bundle, may also help your pet’s body offset any potential burdens (negative effects) the use of long-term medications may cause.
Your vet may also recommend a change in diet for your little one. They may ask that you switch your dog’s diet tovet-formulated dog food for a sensitive stomach or a gut-friendly diet for felines with gastrointestinal cat issues. For a personalized diet, our senior vet Dr. Amanda can work with you to create a homecooked meal plan that is easy to prepare and will be irresistible for your little one!
How NHV Supplements Help Protect the Liver and GI Tract
Pets who are consistently on vet-prescribed medication may experience a loss of appetite, a sensitive tummy, or an additional burden to their liver and kidneys.
TumFlora has been specifically vet-formulated to help protect the GI tract and balance intestinal flora. The well-balanced blend contains herbs like licorice root, marshmallow, and slippery elm which have been used for thousands of years to soothe and protect the intestinal tract and encourage the gentle removal of wastes. Herbs like chamomile and Oregon grape help to stimulate bile flow for improved digestion. And ingredients like fennel seed help to promote a healthy appetite. The anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial properties in Tumflora help control bacterial and fungal infections and help to soothe overall discomfort.
Milk Thistle adds beneficial support to the digestive tract by helping to regulate liver enzyme levels and aiding the effective digestion of fats and sugars. Its antioxidant properties help protect the liver and kidneys from becoming overworked and help to stimulate healthy liver cell regeneration. Multi Essentials helps add vital nutrients (that may be lost from an exhausted liver and kidneys) and encourages healthy digestion, absorption, metabolism, and tissue repair.
Additional Info:
Suppose your pet takes particular medications long-term (eg. seizure medications). The liver filters every single one of these drugs, which can eventually exhaust the liver, causing elevated liver enzymes and leading to decreased functioning. With an under-functioning liver, your pet may not produce enough bile to remove wastes from the body effectively and may develop side effects like a sensitive tummy or irritated bowel. Bile carries most waste into the intestines and out of your furkiddo's body. Other wastes are processed by the liver and go through the kidneys and out the urinary tract.

How to Administer
Shake well before use. The easiest method is to use the dropper provided and place the drops into your pet’s food or favorite treat. You can also use the dropper and squirt directly into the pet’s mouth. Some pets can be finicky, if this occurs consider hiding the drops in foods most pet’s love such as fish, chicken or yogurt or a favorite treat. If your pet only eats dry food then soak a few kibbles at feeding time.
